My favorite ‘Dad’ painting is Murillo’s Sagrada Familia del Pajarito. I absolutely love the tenderness and patience that is shown in the face of St. Joseph. I was blessed to see this in person while in Madrid…stunning! The proportion of the three persons says so much about their role in the family. I loved it so much, I bought a poster and had it framed for my husband. We have it in our foyer. The kids love it too!

Ooh I’ve never seen that one! Beautiful!

The far away expression on Degas’s father’s face shows so beautifully he is transported by music. I love how the older man’s face is lifted emotionally. I also love the joy in Miriam Shapiro’s piece;the gesture and color choices are so expressive.
